Classes are designed for different ages and abilities and offer a wide range of projects to suit everyone’s interests. Whether you are a beginner or experienced sewist, we have a class for you! From simple repairs to advanced techniques, our classes cover it all, making it a fun and educational experience for all participants. Class sessions are scheduled by month, but projects may continue over more than one session.

Beginning Sewing (1 hour class)

Teaches the basics of using a sewing machine. Learn how to thread your machine, adjust tension, wind bobbins, and create simple stitches. Gain the confidence to tackle your own sewing project and create unique items. (Also available as Teen or Adult Sewing.)

Intermediate Sewing (1.5-2 hour class)

For students who already know how to sew and feel confident enough to tackle a more involved project of their choosing. It is a project based class where students will learn to insert elastic, insert zippers, add buttons, use patterns and learn basic professional finishing sewing techniques. This class is also for students wishing to learn how to serge or how to make basic repairs and alterations.

Hand Sewing (30 min class)

For younger students, learn the basics of hand sewing, including threading a needle and a variety of stitches, using plastic canvas and felt. This is a parent/guardian assisted class.

Basic Pattern Drafting (2 hour class)

Learn how to combine patterns and draw your own basic pattern blocks. Students must be able to sew competently and follow patterns.

Beginning Crochet (1 hour class)

Learn the basics of crochet including how to start, chain stitch, single, half double, & double crochet, and to read basic crochet patterns and count stitches.
